Intensive Care Unit
The Intensive Care Unit is a (6)-bed unit with continuous hemodynamic
monitoring capabilities and nursing staff competent in critical care
delivery. Nurse to patient ratio can range from 1:2 to 1:3, depending
on the patient acuity and demonstrated by nursing competence. Care is
provided to patients from pediatric (greater than one year old and
greater than 10kg weight) to geriatric. These patients may have single
or multi-system failure requiring intensive care.
Our staffing plan is designed to meet AACN guidelines. We utilize full,
part-time, and prn RN's with relevant training and experience. LPN's,
Ceritified nursing aides, secretaries and Monitor Technicians may be
utilized as needed. Patient assignment is governed by competency,
staffing matrix, patient acurity, and policies and procedures.
